Creator Agreement

Effective date: September 24, 2026

Thank you for sharing your designs with our community! This agreement explains how selling on My Cozy Cross Stitch works: what we ask of you, what we do for you, and how you get paid. It applies in addition to our Terms of Service. By applying to become a Creator or listing a pattern, you agree to it.

1. The basics

This agreement is between you and M B Squared Inc., based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, which operates My Cozy Cross Stitch (“we”, “us”). You stay an independent designer: nothing here makes you our employee, partner or agent, and you’re free to sell your designs anywhere else too. There is no exclusivity.

2. Becoming a Creator

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. You apply from your account, and we approve applications at our discretion. Please keep your account and payout details accurate and up to date. Your shop name is what buyers see; your personal name is never shown on the site.

3. Your patterns and our review

Every pattern must:

  • be your own original work, or one you have the rights to sell (see Section 4);
  • include at least a printable color PDF chart with its color key, and a photo;
  • be described accurately (size, colors, difficulty, and what files are included);
  • have a price above $0.

We review every pattern before it is listed. We may approve it, ask for changes, or decline it, and we’ll tell you why. If you edit an approved pattern, or change its files, it goes back to review before the changes appear. We may remove or pause a listing that breaks this agreement, receives a credible complaint, or is inaccurate.

Before launch: the shop opens to buyers towards the end of 2026. Until then, approved patterns are not visible to buyers and nothing can be sold.

4. Your rights and your promises

You keep full ownership of your designs. You promise that each pattern you list is original or properly licensed, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights. In particular, don’t list patterns based on characters, logos, artwork, photos or brands you don’t have permission to use, or copies or close adaptations of other designers’ patterns.

So we can run the shop, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display and deliver your patterns and listings; to make thumbnails, previews and resized images; and to feature your listings, shop name and photos in our promotion (for example on the homepage, in the newsletter or on social media). This license lasts while your pattern is listed, plus a reasonable time to wind down promotions already published.

Buyers receive the license described in Section 5 of our Terms of Service: a personal license to stitch the design, with no right to share or resell the files or to sell finished items without your permission. If you allow small-scale sales of finished items, say so in your pattern description.

5. Prices, taxes and your earnings

  • You set your price in US dollars, before tax.
  • You earn 70% of the pre-tax price the buyer pays for each of your patterns. Our 30% commission covers the platform, hosting and delivery, payment processing fees, customer support and marketing. There are no listing fees and no monthly costs.
  • Sales tax and VAT are added on top at checkout based on the buyer’s location. We collect and pay them to the tax authorities as the marketplace, so they never reduce your share and you don’t need to register for them because of sales made on My Cozy Cross Stitch.
  • Stitch Club members may pay a discounted member price. Your share is 70% of the price actually charged. Buyers paying with a gift card don’t reduce your share.
  • Membership downloads: when a member uses one of their monthly downloads on your pattern, you earn the same as a sale at full price: 70% of your pre-tax price (or of the chosen option’s price).
  • Your exact rate is always shown in your Creator Studio. If we ever change it, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and it only applies to sales after that date.

6. Payouts

We pay your earnings to the payout method you set up in your Creator Studio, currently through Stripe. Payouts are made monthly, on or around the 15th, for the earnings of the previous calendar month, once your balance reaches $20. A smaller balance rolls over to the next month. Your Creator Studio shows each sale, your earnings and your payout history.

If an order is refunded (for example because a file was faulty) or reversed by the buyer’s bank, the matching share is deducted from your balance. If a payout was made in error, we may deduct it from future payouts.

7. Your taxes

You are responsible for your own income taxes on your earnings. To pay you, we (or Stripe on our behalf) will ask for the tax information the law requires, such as a Form W-9 if you are in the US or a Form W-8BEN if you are not, and we may issue tax forms (such as a Form 1099) where required. We may hold payouts until this information is complete.

8. Buyers and support

We handle payment, delivery and customer support for orders. You may receive questions about your patterns through your studio inbox; please answer them within a reasonable time. You can only use information about buyers to help with their order, never for your own marketing, and you must keep it confidential.

9. Complaints about your patterns

If someone tells us a pattern infringes their rights, we may pause it while we look into it and we’ll let you know. You can reply with a counter-notice if you believe the complaint is mistaken. We close the shops of repeat infringers.

10. Removing patterns or leaving

You can unpublish or delete a pattern, or close your shop, at any time. Buyers who already bought a pattern keep access to it in their Library, and your earnings already due are still paid. We may suspend or close a Creator account that breaks this agreement or our Terms, or if the law requires it; where reasonable, we’ll give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first.

11. Responsibility

If a claim is brought against us because a pattern you listed infringes someone’s rights or breaks the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, including reasonable legal fees. Our liability to you is limited in the same way as in our Terms of Service, and in any case to the commission we earned on your sales in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes, law and contact

We may update this agreement; for important changes we’ll email you at least 30 days before they apply. It is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. Questions? Message us from your studio inbox or write to hello@mycozycrossstitch.com.
